The idea has emerged from a personal frustration with umbrellas.
If you buy a too big and expensive umbrella (take for example a gulfbrella), you might recall that it's such a hassle to drag along - just by its weight and size. Also, it's something that you will most likely lose during a company event, after one or two drinks.
If you buy a small and cheap version instead, you won't get sufficient protection due to the small surface. In addition, such smaller variants tend to break quickly, and when this happens, you might as well not have dragged one with you in the first place.
The bottom line is that we need to minimize our interactions with umbrellas as much as possible
In order to do so, we need to be aware of the local precipitation levels when stepping outside our premises, at all times. This is exactly the main purpose of this application. Through smart automated alerts, you minimize getting caught by a wet surprise.
Also for a sunny audience
While this tool is highly suitable for an audience in rainy regions, it actually has also a major benefit for the fortunates among us that live in a sunny paradise. If you are one of those lucky ones, you probably do not look at the weather forecast on a regular basis. Setting an umbrella alert is therefore the ideal pre-emptive measure, for the one time it actually does rain in your region.
